Avoidance: there are tests to diagnose lactose intolerance, but often just eliminating lactose containing foods such as cow's milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream is the easiest way. if your symptoms get better and gas, abdominal cramping and or loose stools improve then it is very probable that you have a lactose sensitivity. You then could start back on some lactose containing foods and see what happens
