What kind of: infections? Yes, it is often recommended that a child be seen if there is some type of infection suspected/present and the symptoms aren't going away. But this question can't be fully answered without more information.

When in doubt...: Absolutely it would be appropriate to see the kids doctor, especially when they are ill and you feel at a loss on how to help them. As to helping you via this format, we would need to know more about the children and their symptoms before we could offer any meaningful advice. Call their pediatrician, and good luck!

Hard to say: You offer no specific history or description of what is happening now.To be specific, we need info to go on. The average kid has 5-7 respiratory and a couple diarheal illnesses/yr to age 5 then drops back to 3-5/1-2.If the kids problems are minor & self heal over a few days it is normal. If the kid is having significant infections like bone/joint or pneumonia then specialty consultation is needed
