Doubtful: Costochondritis is inflammation at the junction of the rib and sternum, so would cause pain at the anterior chest. If your pain is at the side, then it's more likely to be another condition such as a possible fracture (if there's been any recent trauma), or a trigger point (local inflammation). I would suggest seeing an orthopedist for another opinion.
