Relax, pinch nose: It's important if you have a nose bleed to relax - if you are upset an elevation of your blood pressure will keep your nose bleeding longer. Sit, relax, lean back and gently pinch your nose. The bleeding should stop within 10-20 minutes. Avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen (advil, motrin) and Naproxen (aleve), as these increase the time it takes to stop bleeding.
