Maybe so: A bladder infection is a type of UTI (urinary tract infection). If you get a bladder infection, you have a UTI (your bladder infection is your UTI). Bladder infections are usually caused by bacteria making their way up the urethra into the bladder. A doctor can evaluate and check the urine for infection (plus look for other causes of frequent urination, such as diabetes or excess water drinking).
