Otitis Media: You probably still have what we call an "effusion" in your middle ear. This is fluid on the eardrum, so to speak. I would expect this to continue for the next several weeks. Effusion after ear infection can last a month. If at that point your symptoms aren't resolved, followup with your doctor.

Ear infection: This can be a common occurence after an ear infection and it is due to residual fluid. This may take up to three months to resolve but your symptoms should lessen sooner. It also could be your current antibiotic is not effective and may need to be switched to a new one. I would suggest you get your ears rechecked.
