The possibility that one or more discs in the lower back might be slipping is high and the sooner it is treated the better the outcome. A visit to the PCP sooner than later is indicated.

Low back pain is mostly caused by injury to a muscle (strain) or ligament (sprain). Common causes include improper lifting, poor posture, lack of regular exercise, trauma. While topical NSAIDS may help, oral NSAIDS (ibuprofen or Naproxen) may provide more antiinflammatory effect. Alternate Cold therapy (20 minutes) with a rest (30 min), then Hot therapy (20 min). Talk to Dr re: muscle relaxant.
