If you feel remeron (mirtazapine) : (mirtazepine) is ineffective in treating your anxiety, but are also fearful of tapering or stopping the med in favor of another, I would ask yourself while you feel this way. Is it because the Remeron (mirtazapine) is partially effective and you don't want to lose some benefits? Or is it based in fear of changing meds? I would set up an appointment with your doctor and discuss ur concerns thoroughly.

Remeron: Don't know your dose of Remeron. If the dose if below 45 mg/day - it might not be high enough for you. If you and your doctor decide to change meds - would recommend tapering off of Remeron. You didn't tell us diagnosis. SSRI's can be very beneficial for depression/ anxiety/ etc. (ie. lexapro, celexa, zoloft, prozac, etc.)
