Cheilitis: Cheilitis is the label applied to inflammation of the lips. When it occurs in the corners/angles of the mouth it is called angular cheilitis or angular stomatitis. It is fairly common. Nutritional (iron/B vitamins/folic acid) deficiencies are thought to be causes, as is allergy (contact with something irritating), & infection (yeast, staph, strep). I might suspect infection with the white spots.
