Time will help: Parainfluenza virus can last up to 10 days and fever can last 3 to 4 but usually goes away after that. The cough can last the longest and cool mist at night can help but try not to give medicine to suppress the cough or the mucous could become infected. Fever usually gets better with tylenol (acetaminophen) but still might come back Things to look for are fever coming back after 10 days, especially if it is high
