A member asked:

Told last yr about moderate cyst on left ovary. painful all day, especially pre/mensa, mensa & post. thought cysts go away on their own? confused.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes they go away: You have cysts on your ovaries every month prior to ovulation. Sometimes the cyst fails to ovulate and a cyst becomes persisitant. If this happens you doc could give you oral contraceptive to shrink the cyst. If the cyst becomes greater that 6 cm sometimes you need surgery. You should follow up with your doc and check if the cyst is larger or persisitant.
