Bad advice: Low fiber diets are more likely to cause constipation & bowel obstruction. Drs. used to recommend low fiber diets for diverticulitis and diverticulosis--which is exactly the opposite of what is needed. To prevent constipation and "keep things moving," I recommend a high fiber diet (several tablespoons of psyllium husks) and plenty of water, each day. Magnesium and prunes will help, too.

Not true: Not true unless you have a bowel that is about to obstruct completely from a variety of reasons in which case you must see your doctor.
