CDOC. RDOR: CDOC= common disease occur commonly. RDOR= rare diseases occur rarely. A tumor in the spine would be detected by a CT scan or MRI, and MAYBE by a plain x-ray. A cancer in the spine in a young man with no prior history of cancer is not impossible, but quite unlikely.

In rare cases, nerve, bone marrow or, bony tumors can arise in the spine itself. At age 22, other musculoskeletal problems are far more common as cause of low back pain.
