Prevent colon polyps: Consensus varies from studies aimed at preventing colon polyps & colon cancer. Genetics with polyposis syndromes can't be altered. Some medical literature shows significant benefit in reducing polyps by taking Aspirin & NSAID's, diets hi in fruits/vegetables/whole grains, reducing fat intake, weight control, calcium, stop smoking, curtail alcohol. Check family history; get colonoscopy if warranted

Colon Polyp: Hyperplastic polyps can occur and re-occur. The nice thing about these type of polyps is that they are totally benign. They have absolutely no risk of becoming colon cancer! It is possible though that you could develop other "pre-cancerous polyps", but that has nothing to do with these hyperplastic polyps.
