I am 23 and have had 5 polyps removed from colon. the two that stick out are one juvinile retention polyp & one elastofibroma polyp which the doctors say is odd. why do these types of polyps appear? reactive or underlining condition? or just random?

These polyps: are "incidental" or "random" discoveries the exact reason in unclear however they do not represent the type of polyps that become malignant. Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
