Symptoms Seconds: I have a hard time diagnosing the cause of symptoms such as yours that are very intermittent and last only seconds. It could be so many things that I hazard to guess. Palpitations: Please see your physician for an ECG and evaluation. You may need a cardiology referral or event Holter monitor. Avoid all stimulants such as caffeine, decongestants, energy drinks, and limit chocolate. Avoid strenuous exercise until your doctor can examine you. If dieting, make sure your potassium and magnesium intake are normal. A MVI (multivitamin) may be a good idea. No diet pills, please. ER if lightheaded.
