A member asked:

If i talk to my doctor about my suicidal thoughts will he involuntarily commit me? also will he have to tell psychologist at my job training program?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes /NO: suicidal thoughts per se are very common in depressive and anxiety disorders, a lot more common than most people think. what you are talking about is suicidla risk which is a whole different level . if your providers feels like you are imminently at risk of self harm he nay commit you. but suicidal thoughts per se are not grounds for commitment . feel better
