Mastoiditis came l8r: I suspect that u had a low-grade ear infection that was "smoldering", spread to the mastoids, & then to the middle ear where it affected ur hearing. At that point, u noticed it. Unfortunately, though uncommon, this spread is described in the literature. Mastoiditis can be serious as it is near the brain. Hopefully, u've seen an ENT (ear-nose-throat) specialist to discuss ur options & get antibioti
