BPH treatment: Benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) is an enlargement of the bladder that causes trouble emptying the bladder. Unlike prescription medications, herbal remedies have few clinical trials showing benefit. Along with nutritional supplements, they are unregulated in the U.S. so there is no assurance of quality control. OTC (over the counter) meds, especially allergy medications may make symptoms worse.
