Starts later: Growth spurt or puberty usually lasts about 3 years from onset to what is called stage 4 but it may take an additional year or longer to reach full adult physique. With late bloomers, it starts and ends later. Genetics as well as general health both contribute to age of puberty as well as body habitus. If concerned about your growth, see your doctor to assess chromosome or hormone abnormalities.
