Fatty foods: Foods high in fats slow down stomach emptying and cause bloating, burping and dyspepsia. Taking simethicone after meals may prevent some symptoms and drinking hot water helps to break down the gas. Applying a hot water bottle to the abdomen relieves gaseous distension. It's best to avoid greasy foods.
