I am recovering from a jaw injury. i was washing a spoon with a sponge.the sponge somehow knocked the spoon out of my hand, but also caused jaw pain.

Vague: Hard to say what is going on with your description of symptoms. Really need a thorough history and exam. Did you have any potential TMJ/TMD issues before the injury? When did you suffer the injury, how severe, where were you hit, etc.? If in doubt, see a TMJ specialist.

See oral surgeon: You didn't state if the sponge or the spoon hit your jaw. Also did not describe what the jaw injury was. Best bet if the symptoms are still there the day after event, see an oral surgeon. You may or may not have a TMJ problem.
