I have pink eye. need proscription ?

Nope: all conjunctivitis are self- limited and will go away regardless of treatment (sexually transmitted pinkeye is the exception). also, most pink eye is viral- no treatment available anyway. unless you have a lot of greenish discharge, just keep it clean and it'll go away like in a week or so.

Depends on cause.: Pink eye is conjunctivitis. It can be caused by things like viruses (common cold), bacteria, allergies, foreign body in the eye & chemical exposures. Pink eye symptoms can effect one or both eyes. They many include redness &/or itchiness, increased tearing, discharge & gritty sensation.
