A member asked:

I have myasthenia gravis, done a lot through the holidays, in a lot of pain, how do i know it is just pain or will it be weakness. how do we ever know the difference?

Weakness: The hallmark of Myasthenia Gravis is weakness and not pain. The weakness can affect your ability to keep your eyes open, cause double vision, affect your speech and swallowing, or cause weakness of your extremities. This weakness will worsen with use of the affected muscles. If you are not certain it would be a good idea to talk to your treating neurologist.
