A member asked:

If i am using an infrared heat lamp on my face to treat my cold, can it damage my eyes when they are closed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Amazed: I continue to be amazed at the unending array of useless therapies for the common cold. If you like the way this feels, go ahead. Not too close, you can get burned. Wear goggles or at least keep your eyes closed. While not the serious hazard of UV lamps, there could be eye damage especially with prolonged exposure or close use.
