Uri: If your eyes remain closed the answer is no, bur there are better ways to treat your cold. Your primary care physician can discuss the moddalities with you.

Don't do that: There's no benefit in getting over your cold from sitting in front of a heat lamp. Infrared radiation doesn't speed your recovery from viral illness. Don't do that. And while there's mostly heat from the lamp, there may also be damaging rays that can hurt your eyes. Drink fluids, gets rest, and eat well. Vitamin C and Zinc are good antivirals. Citrus fruits have a lot of both.
