A member asked:

Is it possible to have a chronic malabsorption problem that goes undetected, because the malabsorption is mild?

Dr. John Chiu answered

Sure: In fact many malabsorption problems are not recognized until the storage has been exhausted ( vit B12 deficiency etc). Thus getting some routine blood work done periodically even in the absence of disease is not a bad idea.
