That sounds right: An ultrasound (sound wave) examination of your uterus may detect a yolk sac attached somewhere to the uterine wall, but it is too early to detect the heartbeat and be reassuring that the pregnancy is viable/fine. The heart beat is usually detectable at 6-7 weeks. Since there would be no effective treatment/nothing to do regardless of what was seen now on US, only option now is watch and wait.
