A member asked:

Why might an acupuncturist insert needles into a patient's eyes?

Not done: This is something an acupuncturist will not do. It could risk serious harm to the eye and vision. They sometimes insert needles near the eye but never in the eye. If this has actually happened, the eye should be examined immediately by an ophthalmologist.

Acupuncture: The only time that might possibly happen is by accident. One case was described in the literature: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25372324 Agree with earlier response that this would be injurious to the eye.
