Better than animal: Human insulin, unlike pork and beef insulin, is identical to what your body produces. It is made by inserting the gene for human insulin into a common bacteria and can be made in unlimited quantities. Animal insulins are made from pancreas of slaughtered cows and pigs and the supply is limited so human insulin is now used exclusively.
