Why is the area around my eye red and dry?

Could be: eczema. Dry, red itchy patch of skin. Generally also found elsewhere on the face and body in varying severity. Try an emollient cream or ointment and see if that helps. Of course this less ideal to diagnose without seeing this in person or without a picture.
