Demeclocycline: It induces nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (dehydration due to inability to concentrate urine by the kidneys) as a side-effect, hence relieves the low sodium problem in SIADH.

Rising sodium levels: Demeclocycline causes sodium (salt) levels in the blood to increase more slowly than something like fluids rich in sodium. That is important because if the sodium levels are being corrected too quickly, then there could be severe complications.
