Variety: The basis of a healthy diet (vegetarian or not) should be a wide variety of vegetables, preferably organic-try vegies of all colors as colors represent key nutrients. Adequate protein is important, from beans, nuts, seeds, organic dairy & eggs. A moderate amount of fruit- limit tropical fruits. Moderate whole grains. Avoid fried foods & gmo foods- foods with corn/soy or their oils unless organic.
