A member asked:

Why does steroid use increase your white blood cell concentration?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steroids and WBC: Steroids increase the WBC in two ways. First, they act to "mobilize" the WBC that have been "parked" in small vessels and the spleen. Secondly, they are weak stimulators of the bone marrow itself, prompting increased production there.
