Many reasons: There are many reasons for having "hard" heart beats. Some of these are abnormal and some of these just indicate increased heart awareness. Some can be due to irregular beats, fast beats, skipped beats or problems with hormones or electrolytes or psychological issues. It is worth getting these checked out by a health care provider. Tell your doctor about this for a thorough evaluation.
