A member asked:

Why can many quadriplegic patients still maintain normal body functions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. Kevin Yoo answered

That is impossible.: I do not know of any quadriplegic individuals who have normal body functions. The hallmark of such significant spinal cord injury is to lose the ability to maintain bowel and bladder functions, have labile temperature and blood pressure regulations, and so on.
