A member asked:

Which is best for anxiety: seroquel (quetiapine) or risperdal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neither: Although Seroquel (quetiapine) and Risperdal (risperidone) both strongly reduce anxiety, neither are first-line treatments, as their side-effect risks are too great. For most people, better treatments for anxiety include non-drugs like psychotherapy, relaxation training, mindfulness mediation, etc, or SSRI antidepressants (which also treat anxiety), Buspar, (buspirone) or "benzo" tranquilizers.
