when i swallow any food or liquid, it feels as if it's going down the wrong tube in the throat. why is this?

Hard to several: As several different problems can cause aspirations, as in food/liquid going down the wrong "pipe". Your best bet is review this with your doctor as you may benefit from a swallow study to better delineate if you have any anatomic or motility issues with swallowing.
