A member asked:

I had ultrasound done for irregular periods but the scan didn't show up much only that i have enlarged ovaries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Findings: At 47, it would be very very common to have irregular periods. Your ovaries begin to work less regularly and you ovulate less often especially after age 45. This is called the perimenopause. Your physician was probably looking for a thickened endometrium as hyperplasia is common as you approach menopause.
