2 ways sew SVC -PA: The bidirectional Glenn connects the SVC above the right PA to the PA so blood can go to either lung (bidirectional), and the SVC below the level of the anastomosis is turned into a stump. The hemi-Fontan connects the SVC below the PA to the underside of the PA, and excludes this connection from the right atrium with a patch, removed at the time of the fontan, when the IVC to PA connect is done.
