A member asked:

Please help! what is the difference between an cardiac intervention and a cardiac diagnostic procedure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Army?: It's like reconnaissance versus "search and destroy" missions. Diagnostic invasive procedures or heart caths inject dye down the artery to see the problem. Intervention means they've put a wire and balloon (usually followed by a stent) as well down the artery to "intervene" and fix the problem.
