One without the othe: Colposcopy is the procedure of using a microscope to exam the vagina and cervix under magnification when your pap smear is abnormal. If an abnormality is seen, then a biopsy is taken.

Different tests: A colonoscopy is looking in the bowel, a biopsy is getting a sample to check by a pathologist. A biopsy can be done at the same time as a colonoscopy.
