A member asked:

What is the cheapest brand of over-the-counter insulin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It ain't cheap: Hi. I remember buying a vial of insulin in the 1970's for $7. Now you're looking at hi-$100's to low-$200's for the good (analog) insulins. NPH and Regular human insulins are still available OTC and are less expensive. I NEVER prescribe them, however, and you would have to ask pharmacies for prices. Shop around - prices may vary. Shame on this barbaric country for not covering with single payor.
