Born this way: Craniosynostosis is premature closure of some of the cranial sutures, the connections between the plate-like bones of the skull that normally close as the baby's soft spot closes: around AGE ONE YEAR. Turricephaly, or oxycephaly, means "tower head," and it is one head shape that can result. Most adults do not have surgery for this, but the Craniofacial team at HUP Penn may be an option for you.
