Self help & churches: If you have talked this out with others who experience the grief from the same loss there are self-help groups you might try. There are grief support groups. Most churches have ministries which will help with grief.

Yes: Yes, you can certainly cope with the loss of a loved one by yourself. Seeing the psychologist is not mandatory. However, that being said, if the pain of the loss is intense enough, and impedes living your life and growing deeply enough, seeing a psychologist can make processing that loss much easier.
