A runny nose: is just one of the symptoms of the flu, but can also just be a sign of a simple cold. If you develop a fever, you should call your doctor or be seen by a doctor, to make the determination of which you have and if Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is indicated. If you have an underlying medical conditions, a doctor might want to treat you preventatively, but I don't have your history and wouldn't make that decision here.

Why: Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is helpful for about 70% of people with flu, but there is little benefit to take it if you do not have it. It is a patented medication and an adult treatment will set you back i n excess of $100 at most pharmacies.
