Could be either: It could be either. Is your period due? Are you having unprotected intercourse? If your period is late, check a pregnancy test and if it is negative and your period still hasn't started in 3-5 days repeat it. If you don't want to be pregnant now, start using a reliable method of contraception and condoms to decrease the risk of STDs. Best wishes.
