A member asked:

I hurt my left wrist over the summer. 1 dr believes it might be carpal tunnel, but my primary doesn't believe that's the case.what could b causing it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Occult fracture?: Wrist pain can be caused by a number of things including a missed or occult fracture, irritated tendons, nerve injury or irritation, arthritis, or bursitis. Many of these things can be treated symptomatically and resolve on their own, but some things like an occult or missed fracture may require additional evaluation and treatment. Referral to an orthopaedic surgeon or hand surgeon would help.
