A member asked:

My 3-month old baby left eye keeps tearing up when he is not crying and it seems really watery and a little low. what can this be?

Blocked tear ducts: are common in children and can appear as an excessively watery eye. In the absence of signs of infections such as redness, swelling and thick/colored eye discharge, this is usually nothing to worry about. If this is NEW, evaluation is warranted, otherwise warm compresses can sometimes help.

See eye doctor: Your baby is having tears because the tube which drains the tears is blocked . By massaging by the side of nose on left side usually helps. otherwise consult eye doctor who will suggest a procedure to remove the block
