A member asked:

What are 6 ways a bionic ear (cochlear implant) can improve a deaf persons quality of life?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Why 6 ways?: A cochlear implant is a device that is most often implanted when a person has bilateral profound or complete hearing loss. The quality of life that will be improved with a successful outcome, is that you will hear and understand language. It is not bionic, but a magnetic device connected to the inner ear via a wire. Sound energy will convert the inner ear via the wire to electrical impulses.
